The Interview & The Book: An Introduction!

The Introduction!

Well, it's almost here. In just a week's time, the first children's author picture book review will go live.

In another week's time, that same author will sit next to me, virtually speaking, and answer all the questions you have been dying to know.

I can't tell you how excited I am for this guest appearance. Over the years of honing my craft, following other writers to see what they are doing, how they are doing it, and how I can achieve it myself, this author does it with class. I was honored to meet her personally at the Beekman Library in Hopewell Junction, NY, last year.

As you can see, I'm giving you a little clue here, but since everyone likes surprises, that is all I'm going to say about this.

Multi-Book Flier

Why am I doing this?

I've been writing for a long time. Through the years, I've met many people just like me and probably you, who love to write. Maybe it comes naturally, maybe it doesn't. That isn't the point. The point is, they have a story itching to be told. So, as writers, we write it.

Many of us become traditionally published. Congratulations, you have made it into the club of distinguished authors. You should be proud. Most of us are not as lucky.

It doesn't matter!

Know what I've noticed? It doesn't matter if you get selected into the distinguished club or not, because in today's market, we are all equal.

Sell Time | Promotion Time!

At the end of the day, we all have to market our own books and promote ourselves to our readers. This is a day job in itself. Writing & publishing a book doesn't make you much money. Authors have to find other avenues to pay the bills, and because of this, our day jobs take the front seat. Marketing and promoting our books gets put on the back burner, sometimes completely forgotten. The other problem is that we are creative writers, not marketers. Many authors do not know how to market themselves. Hey, I'm still learning too.

March 8th ARIA Event

As an ARIA Board Member  & Co-Chair of the Small Events Committee, I've spent hours researching and vetting out venues for our authors to promote their work. I have been committed over this past year to finding free avenues for authors to promote their work, sell their books, and promote their business. This is a long road, and with few opportunities, because you do not want to exhaust the system.

Why not help out?

After attending many events over the past two years, spending a lot of money, not knowing if I was going to make up the difference in the cost to my table, I decided there had to be a better way for authors to sell books and reach a larger audience without spending a lot of money.

That was when I decided to create The Interview & The Book Review. I wanted to give authors the chance to have their books seen and their voices heard.

As an author, you can choose to have a picture book of your choice reviewed by me and posted on the blog. This includes book covers, and links to purchase your book & any social media and website links you would like to add to the post. Plus, I share the post link with you to share with your network and social media accounts. The post is here forever.

Or you can choose to be interviewed as an author, which also includes book covers, and links to purchase your book & any social media and website links you would like to add to the post. Plus, I share the post link with you to share with your network and social media accounts. The post is also here forever.

Or you can choose both. The choice is really up to you.

Hey, you decided to be an author, make the most of it. Most of all, remember:

Enjoy the Moments, Cherish the Memories!
